OUTLAWS BEAT MADDOGS, SECURE FIRST PLACE

On Saturday the Stillwater Outlaws beat the Oklahoma Maddogs 16-0 to remain the only unbeaten team in the Oklahoma Metro Football League. The win also locks the Outlaws into the top spot for the playoffs.

Despite several inches of rain before the game, the Outlaws were able to play in the battle to remain the only unbeaten team in the OMFL. Once again it was a well balanced game for the Outlaws on both sides of the ball. The offense was able to score on a 23-yard pass from Michael Money to Tray Stanton and rack up a total of 183 yards. The defense was able to score points thanks to a safety and a blocked punt which was recovered in the end zone. Not only was it a big victory and the team’s 5th shutout of the season, it was the fourth time the Outlaws held an opponent to negative yards.
The win secures the top spot in the playoffs for the Outlaws. The Maddogs (7-1) will play the Ada Blitz (7-1) for the second spot. Both one-loss teams were defeated by Stillwater. The top two teams going into the playoffs will earn a bye for the first round on May 16th. For the Outlaws, that means they will play May 30th in the semi-final round against the lowest seeded team left in the playoffs.

The Outlaws have one regular season game left to play. On May 9th they will play the Del City Silverbacks at Crooked Oak High School at 3:00pm. At 7pm the Maddogs will play Ada for 2nd place. Tickets to one or both games are just $5 and can be purchased at the game. Children 12 and under get in free. For more information, visit StillwaterOutlaws.com
